Shrewsberry provided program management as part of the Owner’s Technical Representative (OTR) team for construction of the Lawrence Police Station, the first new police station for the City of Lawrence. The new two-story, 37,000 square foot police station, with a basement, consists of a 2,000 square foot vehicle storage and staging facility, fitness center, 911 dispatch, evidence storage, administrative offices, and training room. The new police station will provide not only a new home for Lawrence Police, but a safe place for the community.
As the OTR, Shrewsberry’s responsibilities included leading the project as an extension of the owner staff, manage the construction contractor and help to mediate construction issues, develop plans for both their IT and FFE, manage the testing agency, review invoices and monthly pay applications, and coordinate the FFE package and 911 Dispatch relocation. Additional responsibilities included project closeout, inclusive of project punch list walkthrough and review and site testing documentation.
