The project is the design of ne paved shoulders for Runway 5R-23L at Rickenbacker International Airport (LCK) to address existing Modifications of Standards for Airplane Design Group (ADG) VI operations. The design includes shoulder pavement, new underdrain, stormwater management, and replacement of existing runway edge light fixtures with LED lamps, new transformers, new cable in conduit as well as new home run cable in existing conduit back to the electrical vault. The project also included the rehabilitation and geometric improvements of one connector taxiway to the runway hold positions; runway blast pad modifications, and miscellaneous pavement removals.
Shrewsberry provided grading design for the new Runway 5R-23L shoulders and connector taxiways. Services included: grading design, preparation of grading plans, taxiway plan and profiles, cross sections, and quality control.
