Shrewsberry was a member of the Owner’s Representative Team (OTR) for the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority during the planning, design and construction of Lucas Oil Stadium and the expanded Indiana Convention Center. This project included the construction of a new multi-purpose stadium and entertainment venue, the demolition of the current RCA Dome, and the expansion of the Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. The budget for these projects totaled almost one billion dollars.
Shrewsberry assisted with the management and coordination of all of the issues related to the Pedestrian Connector from Lucas Oil Stadium to the expanded Convention Center, which included providing overall project management, utility coordination, coordination with INDOT and the City of Indianapolis during the federal grant process, and coordination with CSX and other railroad entities. Shrewsberry also provided services related to the coordination of adjacent property owners including the US Postal Service for alternate parking solutions, coordination with the City of Indianapolis for the Cultural Trail components, management of commissioning processes for the projects, and other activities involved in the Lucas Oil Stadium and Expanded Convention Center planning and construction.
Shrewsberry & Associates also assisted with environmental consulting analyses and reports for certain adjacent properties, and with the early coordination and categorical exclusion process related to the federal grant process.
