Shrewsberry was a member of the Regional Rail Partners design-build team for the Regional Transportation District (RTD) North Metro Rail Line Project in Denver, Colorado.
The NMRL is an 18.5-mile electric commuter rail with a total of 8 stations at National Western Stock Show, 72nd, 88th, 104th, 112th, 144th, 162nd, and State Highway 7 when it is fully built out. The NMRL will connect Denver Union Station with Commerce City, Northglenn, Thornton, and Adams County.
Phase 1 of the project included 13 miles of the North Metro Rail Line to 124th Avenue and included 2,520 parking spaces. When fully built out, the NMRL will include 3,850 parking spaces. RTD signed a contract with the Regional Rail Partners on December 13th, 2013 to design and build Phase 1 of the project. The project was completed in 2018.
Shrewsberry provided civil engineering design services as part of the design team. Services included drainage and utility design for the 72nd, 112th, and 124 stations. Shrewsberry also provided drainage design services for the Area A-C Segment of the NMRL.
