Shrewsberry was retained by J. T. Sauer & Associates (JTSA Sports), the designer of the FC Pride Soccer Club Artificial Turf Field, to develop the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and prepare the drainage permit application to the City of Lawrence for the project. The project included a new soccer field to be constructed using artificial turf. The project area is approximately 5 acres. The project will reduce the impervious area on the site by removing the south portion of the existing parking lot to accommodate construction of the new soccer field.
Preparation of the drainage permit application package included the development of a Technical Information Report (TIR). Because of the reduction in impervious area of the project site, additional drainage calculations were not required. The volume of stormwater runoff from the site decreased as a result of the decrease in impervious area, reducing the potential for discharge of pollutants to the existing detention ponds and to Mock Creek and eliminating the need for additional detention.
