Project Details

Shrewsberry provided detailed design services for a portion of the Ivy Hills Neighborhood Drainage Improvements project including the design of improvements on 79th Street, Kilmer Lane, and Rucker Road. Utilizing Innovyze XPSWMM, the existing drainage problem areas and infrastructure was modeled duplicate observed flooding problems in the field. Based on the model, alternatives were evaluated to select the most cost-effective solution. The drainage improvements included replacing inadequate inlet configurations to improve inlet capacities and inflow.

Shrewsberry identified approximately $800k in construction savings by evaluating storm sewer replacements that were not cost effective and recommending those areas not be replaced. The project also included rebuilding the curbs on four intersections, replacing/adding 45 stormwater inlets, and milling and resurfacing several sections of pavement. Shrewsberry also assisted in public meetings with key stakeholders.
