The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) Regional Transit Center-Site Improvements project includes the design and construction of an interim bus parking lot. The interim bus parking lot facility is needed to accommodate bus parking during the demolition of the existing Grand Avenue bridge and construction of the new bridge. The project has a 30-month construction duration. The bridge is an important connection between downtown Glenwood Springs and Interstate 70. During construction, access to downtown Glenwood Springs via Interstate 70 will be suspended and RFTA will need additional bus parking during construction. The interim bus parking lot will have the capacity to hold 35 buses and is located in West Glenwood Springs.
